SH Guidebook: the Good, the Bad, & the Neutral

One of the biggest distinctions as far as attributes go is between Directed and Undirected. You could, in a sense, consider Directed attributes the "good" attributes, and Undirected attributes the "bad" ones.

But, within an individual attribute, there's also a lot of room for variation, including both good and bad qualities. Here are some of the possible good/bad qualities each attribute might display.


Machination

  • Probably the most likely of any attribute to think of crazy and intensely original ideas
  • May be too focused on cool things that could happen in the future to think about the present

Synthesis

  • Able to be calm and only look forward even in the most dire situations
  • May be able to intuitively think of resources others don't even know exist
  • Limited ability to be original or creative
  • May not have any ability to defy authority whatsoever

  • Often highly indecisive unless one choice is objectively better
  • May appear cold and heartless to others in matters that people tend to get emotional and irrational about
  • Very unlikely to fall for appeals to emotion or similar appeals to cognitive biases
  • Able to just as easily break ties as make them, while still having the ability to bond strongly with the in-group they form
